Version 6.41

Software, Hardware, and Firmware Required

Releases previous to 6.x are composed of software, ﬁrmware, and hard-

ware assemblies; however, versions 6.x and 6.41 are software upgrades

only.

■

Software is on IBM PC compatible 1.44 MB 3.5 inch ﬂoppy diskettes

■

Firmware is loaded into ROMs and must be installed by replacing the

appropriate ROM IC on an appropriate Series 7000 module

■

Required ﬁrmware/hardware changes to Version

3.x

MCPU to install

and run Version 6.41 are as follows:

●

Install the MCPU Programmable Logic Device that provides the

ﬂash memory control logic.

●

Replace 80960CA microprocessor with 80960CF.

●

Replace the FLASH memory SIMMS.

●

Install the MCPU Interrupt Controller Programmable Logic Device.

●

Install the MCPU Boot PROM.

●

Install two Mica Capacitors.

●

Update each Node Controller with a new NBX ROM.

4.x

MCPU to install

and run Version 6.41 are as follows:

●

Install the MCPU Programmable Logic Device that provides the

●

●
